Kaushik Lakshminarasimhan (Assistant Professor)
Kaushik joined UT Dallas in fall 2025 where he is an assistant professor in the Department of Neuroscience and an affiliate faculty in the Texas Artificial Intelligence Research Institute. He obtained his PhD in Neuroscience from Baylor College of Medicine and did his postdoctoral work in the Center for Theoretical Neuroscience at Columbia University. His research interests focus on the algorithms that enable natural and artificial intelligence and their neural implementation.

Yile Wang (PhD student)
Yile is a PhD student in Cognition and Neuroscience. He is currently developing and testing theories of representational drift. More broadly, he is interested in continual learning and building practical tools using large language models. Outside of research, he enjoys reading, bouldering, and running.

Vishwa Pandian (Research assistant)
Vishwa is a masters student in Computer Science. He is currently developing machine-learning models to identify behavioral signatures in animal video data. His broader research interests are in developing normative models of episodic and semantic memory.

Jahnavi Lanka (Research assistant)
(joint with Anila D’Mello) Jahnavi is a dual masters student in Applied Cognition/Neuroscience and Philosophy. She is currently building computational models to categorize pragmatic and semantic aspects of social language in children with ASD. She also studies the effects of musical structure on motor fluidity in Parkinson’s disease. Broadly, she is interested in developing personalized research methods for psychiatry. Outside of research, she writes about the philosophy of cognitive science.
